This thesis starts from the perspective of the same semantic category,and combines with lexical semantics and cognitive linguistic theories to assist Chinese learners in better distinguishing Appear verbs.Firstly,the study explores the syntactic and semantic features of Appear verbs--“Biaoda,Biaoshi,Biaoming,Biaoxian,Xianshi,Tixian,Zhanxian”.Secondly,the study analyzes the textbook processing and errors of Appear verbs.Finally,corresponding teaching strategies and teaching designs are put forward based on the study.The thesis is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which introduces the writing background and foundation of this thesis,including the reasons for the topic selection,research significance,research status,research object,research content,theoretical basis,research methods,and corpus sources.The second part is the syntactic investigation of Appear verbs.From the collocation frameworks and sentence patterns,the syntactic similarities and differences of the Appear verbs are explored by sorting out and summarizing the corpus of Appear verbs.The third part is the semantic analysis.According to the theory of glosseme structure in lexical semantics,this thesis analyzes the Appear verbs from two aspects: the semantic value and the semantic field.The thesis mainly adopts the componential analysis method and image schema to summarize the similarities and differences of the semantic value of Appear verbs.As for the analysis of semantic field,the main manifestation of the semantic field is word collocation,and the left and right semantic collocation types of Appear verbs are calculated according to the corpus.The fourth part is the research on teaching Chinese as a foreign language with Appear verbs.The thesis first explores the processing of Appear verbs in Chinese textbooks and the errors of Chinese learners,and then,based on that,analyzes the causes of errors of Chinese learners.Finally,the thesis put forward the teaching strategies and corresponding teaching designs of Appear verbs.The fifth part is conclusion.This section summarizes the contents of chapters 1 to 3,points out the innovations and shortcomings of this paper,and puts forward suggestions for future research on this topic.
