Under the new normal of economy, further cultural and tourism industrial integration complies not only with the natural law of industrial transformation and development, but also the strategic requirements of the 14 th Five-Year Plan.Despite weak economic conditions, southwest China enjoys natural advantages in industrial convergence because of its abundant tourism and cultural resources,so the integrative development of cultural and tourism industries plays a vital role in promoting regional economic boom. Therefore, themed by the development level and influencing factors of cultural and tourism industrial integration in the southwest of China, the paper explores how to further promote high-quality integrative development of regional cultural and tourism industries, which will be of great practical significance for regional economic development. This paper sorts out and summarizes relevant theories at home and abroad, and in conjunction with industrial characteristics,an evaluation index system for cultural and tourism industries was set up from four dimensions, namely management benefit, industrial scale, the number of institutions and employees.By virtue of the entropy evaluation method, coupling coordination degree model and synchronization model, the cultural and tourism industrial data of five provinces and cities in southwest China from 2010 to 2019 were selected to measure their convergence degrees. On that basis, the coupling coordination degree was taken as the explained variable, and a fixed effects model was established from six dimensions, namely demand factor, industrial structure level, policy support, technological innovation, traffic location, and human capital,so as to explore the factors that have an influence on the integration level. The results showed that:(1)the comprehensive development level of cultural and tourism industries was obviously on the rise but varied greatly among regions;(2)the two industries were in good coupling as both of their coupling degrees were above 0.9;(3)the two industries were poorly integrated in the region while most years and regions witnessed an imbalance, but the situation had been significantly improved compared with the previous one;(4)the development pattern was divided into five main types according to the synchronization model, that is,(1)the type from simultaneously developing to cultural lagging: Chongqing;(2)the cultural lagging type: Sichuan;(3)the type from cultural lagging to tourism lagging: Guizhou;(4)the tourism lagging type:Yunnan;(5)the fluctuating developing type: Tibet;(5)the regression results of the factors influencing cultural and tourism industrial integration showed that industrial structure level, consumer demand, human capital, technical innovation, and policy support all passed the significance test that p<0.05,except for transportation location.Thereinto, industrial structure level, consumer demand and human capital had significant positive effects while government support and technological innovation had marked inhibitory effects. Therefore, based on the research conclusions, suggestions were presented to promote the cultural and tourism industrial convergence in southwest China.Firstly, the concept of symbiosis should be established with overall plans for the growth of regional cultural and tourism industries.Secondly, the endogenous power for the integration should be inspired by focusing on consumer demand inducing.Thirdly, the industrial structure level should be upgraded again, and the environment for cultural and tourism industrial convergence should also be optimized.Lastly, the personnel security mechanism should be improved to provide intelligence guarantee for the integration.
