With the continuous development of network and information technology,the Internet has exerted an impact on all aspects of college students’ study and daily life.College students experience the convenience brought by the Internet.However,some college students are addicted to the Internet.Previous studies have found that people susceptible to Internet addiction are generally individuals with weak social ability.In the meanwhile,there is a predictive relationship between social withdrawal and Internet addiction.Perceived social support and core self-evaluation are protective factors for people.They are the key to reducing Internet addiction.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the effects of social withdrawal,perceived social support and core self-evaluation on Internet addiction.In this study,a questionnaire was used to randomly sample college students from two universities in Liaoning Province.The "College Student Social Withdrawal Scale","Chinese Internet Addiction Scale-Revised Edition","Perceived Social Support Scale",and "Core Self-Evaluation Scale" were used as tools.After collecting and sorting 781 valid questionnaires,SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 24.0 were used to make statistics on 781 valid questionnaires.Studies have shown that:(1)The social withdrawal scores of girls were higher than those of boys.College students living in rural areas scored higher social withdrawal scores than urban college students;(2)In Internet addiction,girls were higher than boys in the dimensions of compulsive Internet access,withdrawal response and tolerance.Non-only children are higher than only children in tolerance and interpersonal and health dimensions;(3)Girls scored higher than boys on perceived social support.In the family support dimension,the score of the only child is higher than that of the non-only child;(4)Girls scored higher scores than boys about core self-evaluation.Rural college students are higher than urban college students;(5)There was a significant positive correlation between social withdrawal and internet addiction.In the meanwhile,social withdrawal was significantly negatively correlated with perceived social support and core self-evaluation.Furthermore,perceived social support and core self-evaluation was significantly negatively correlated with Internet addiction.There was a significant positive correlation between perceived social support and core self-evaluation;(6)Perceived social support and core self-evaluation play a mediating role in the impact of social withdrawal on internet addiction;(7)Perceived social support and core self-evaluation play a chain mediating role between social withdrawal and internet addiction.
