| This paper is a translation practice report. The text is selected from Jens Anderson’book Life in Lego.It is completed in the machine translation and post-editing mode.Through my practice,it is found that machine translation can identify superficial coherence problems, such as simple lexical coherence problems, while for deeper coherence problems, translators need to correct them during post-editing.Firstly,I read relevant articles, defined the concepts of coherence and marked coherence, and determined the main decision points of post-editing in marked coherence. Then, through comparative case analysis, the key decision-making process in the process of post-editing is reproduced to analyze how translators reconstruct coherence from four dimensions, including stylistic coherence, grammatical coherence, semantic coherence and pragmatic coherence. At the same time, based on the above analysis,I summarized the post-editing strategies to strengthen discourse coherence.Based on my own practice in post-editing projects,I analyzed and sorted out the coherence problems of postediting texts, and summarized editing strategies, hoping to provide some references for translators participating in similar projects to help them reduce the mistakes of postediting caused by ignoring the coherence of the target texts and further improve the quality of post-editing texts. |
