| As China’s international influence gradually grows,the enthusiasm for learning Chinese continues to rise worldwide,and the demand for Chinese language teachers is increasing.The cultivation of MTCSOL(Masters of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages)plays an important role in solving the problem of teacher shortage,and has a clear career-oriented and applied nature in the cultivation process.Therefore,the degree thesis,as one of the important cultivation links of MTESOL,also requires close integration with practice,and the degree thesis of Teaching type design is one of the five major types of MTCSOL degree thesis with distinctive professional characteristics.In fact,Teaching type design degree theses have always occupied acertain proportion of the degree theses,but there is little systematic research on teaching design dissertations in the field of Chinese international education,teachers and students are confused to a certain extent about the writing of such degree theses.Therefore,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth study on teaching design degree theses from the aspects of topic selection,writing paradigm and research methods,in order to deepen teachers’ and students’ understanding of such degree thesis and promote the standardization of teaching design type’s degree thesis.This study selected 309 teaching design type’s degree theses from the first batch of schools selected to pilot MTCSOL in the past ten years,and examined the three aspects of topic selection,structure and content,and research methods by using content analysis and comparative analysis.However,there are different degrees of repetition and concentration of topics within each school and within each topic.(2)The overall structure of the degree thesis on instructional design has gradually become complete in recent years,but the theoretical nature is weak,the preliminary research on instructional design is insufficient,and the evaluation of instructional design lacks standardization and scientificity.(3)Compared with the degree thesis on instructional design of other education majors,the Chinese international education majors are significantly better than the Taiwanese Chinese language teaching majors in terms of the completeness of the structure,the content of each part and the use of research methods,but there is still a gap with the education technology majors in terms of the completeness of the structure,theoreticality,and the standardization and scientificity of the design evaluation.Finally,this study proposes the following three recommendations:(1)Strengthen theoreticality.(2)To provide more courses related to dissertation writing such as research methods.(3)Strengthen the seminars of the faculty community on writing teaching design type thesis.This study hopes to provide some reference and reference for the writing and guidance of teaching design thesis,improve the quality of completed teaching design theses for master’s degree in Chinese international education,and thus enhance the quality of talent cultivation of MTCSOL. |
