A Report On The E-C Translation Of Threat And Error Management Manual(Excerpt) For Civil Aviation Flight

Theoretical course learning is an important part of the training stage of civil aviation pilot students and runs throughout their whole careers.Threat and Error Management Manual focuses on the impact of human factors on flight safety and is an important training material for civil aviation flight students in their flight school stage.The manual is rich in content,comprehensive in professional civil aviation knowledge,and practical in educationThis report discusses the E-C translation project of the Threat and Error Management Manual(excerpt).Completed in 25 days,the task had a length(15,000 Chinese characters)and was jointly completed by the author and his small team.In this report,the author first briefly describes the translation task and analyzes the features of the source texts.In the preparation stage,the author focuses on how to determine the accuracy of terminology and establish a small-sized terminology database.Throughout the translation process,the author adopted the working mode of machine translation plus manual edition,kept communication with the team members to discuss the problems,and proposed solutions promptly.Based on the research of many scholars on civil aviation translation,the author discusses how to solve the translation problems of civil aviation terminology,comprehension and expression of civil aviation knowledge and so on in the case analysis.Through this translation practice,the author has gained the following translation practice experience and inspiration.On the one hand,translators need to improve their translation ability,including language ability,translation technology ability,and search ability.On the other hand,translators also need to strengthen the cultivation of translation views to improve their professional competence and provide clients with better language services.
