A Report On Simultaneous Interpretation Of A Yonyou ERP Management System Training Session

This report studied materials the author interpreted during the internship at the training meeting of the ERP management system in the Tianjin Ribiao Machinery Technology Co.,Ltd on July 24,2021.The report applied the“Comprehension,Expression,and Adaption” Framework of Translation Analysis proposed by Li Changshuan to analyze hands-on practice.Based on Interpretive Theory and Gile’s Effort Model,the author used the method of discourse analysis to analyze the problems during the interpretation process.This report was targeted at C-E interpretation and dwelt on such interpretation strategies as omission,literal interpretation,amplification and integrated interpretation with some examples respectively.By revising some of the typical examples through reflection,this report elaborated on the interpretation problems,analyzed the reasons and put forward some strategies.This report found that the main reasons for the comprehension problems were lack of professional knowledge,language misunderstanding and lack of macro thinking.The causes of expression problems were due to improper syntactic linearity,adjusting sentence structure and paying no attention to coherence.The author made mistakes in adaption due to improper amplification and omission.The author had recognized the above problems and provided the revised version.Given the above-mentioned reasons,the author proposed some strategies such as improving domain knowledge,some proper methods of syntactic linearity,amplification,omission and adjusting sentence structures,enhancing the language competence to promote the interpreting quality.This interpreting practice report hoped to provide reference for relevant research of future C-E simultaneous interpretation and for other interpreters to interpret flexibly in these kinds of simultaneous interpretation and achieve the communicative purpose.
