| With globalization,the economic exchanges in various fields among different countries have become essential parts.The interpreter in new era is supposed to get familiar with those economic materials which are characterized by their concise wording and complex data.To better deal with this kind of task,it is very important to conduct a complete simulated interpreting practice.This is a report on the practice of simulated consecutive interpreting about economy.The author has conducted simulated consecutive interpreting of speeches presented by Zhu Wei and Liu Shijin at the 2021 China Real Economy Forum.This report is divided into four parts: task description,interpreting process,task analysis,and conclusion.The interpreting process is explained in detail with three steps:pre-interpreting preparation,while-interpreting,and post-interpreting summary.Some parts of the speeches are selected to play a role in task analysis.The author uses Verschueren’s Adaptation Theory as the theoretical basis to analyze language selection and adaptation in interpreting practice.In light of contextual adaptation,structural adaptation,dynamic adaptation,and salience of adaptability,this report discusses the strategies and methods in interpreting practice.The report draws some conclusions,which may provide a reference for similar interpreting tasks in the future.Above all,adequate pre-interpreting preparation improves the efficiency of interpreting.The interpreter should not only consolidate the knowledge base of task-related fields but also be familiar with the speaker’s accent and habits to avoid wrong output.Moreover,an appropriate theoretic basis optimizes the quality of output.Under the guidance of Adaptation Theory,the author employs various methods of interpreting to make the output easy to understand. |
