| Numerical idioms are an important part of Chinese idioms.Teaching digital idioms helps intermediate and advanced international students improve their Chinese language skills and develop comprehensive skills in Chinese listening,speaking,reading and writing.The unique structural form and rich cultural connotation of digital idioms are of interest to intermediate and advanced international students learning Chinese.However,international students still have some problems and difficulties in the process of understanding and using digital idioms.In order to gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties in teaching numerical idioms to intermediate and advanced international students and the reasons for their influence,this paper counted the current situation of numerical idioms in the syllabus and teaching materials of Chinese as a foreign language and investigated 32 intermediate and advanced international students’ mastery and knowledge of numerical idioms.The study analyzes the causes of the characteristics of digital idioms,foreign Chinese teaching materials,teachers’ teaching and international students’ learning motivation,and proposes corresponding teaching suggestions to help intermediate and advanced international students to improve their Chinese learning and Chinese usage.Based on the three teaching elements of Chinese language teaching materials,teachers and international students,this paper uses the statistical method,survey method and interview method to study the teaching situation of digital idioms,learning difficulties and the causes of the problems of intermediate and advanced international students.Firstly,the inclusion,proportion and coincidence of numerical idioms in the Chinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Chinese Character Level Syllabus,the International Chinese Language Education Chinese Proficiency Level Standard and the Development of Chinese Language intermediate and advanced series textbooks were counted,and it was found that the low coincidence of numerical idioms in the syllabus and textbooks had some influence on the teaching of Chinese to international students.Secondly,the survey on the mastery and cognition of numerical idioms of intermediate and advanced international students revealed that the structural format and cultural connotation of numerical idioms are difficult points for international students to learn Chinese.The reasons for the low level of mastery of digital idioms among international students include the limitations of teachers’ teaching methods and the motivation of international students to learn.Following that,the effects of the contrastive format and the semantic difficulty of the false meanings of numerical idioms,the incomplete inclusion and incomplete arrangement of the textbooks,the lack of interest and relevance of the teachers’ teaching methods and approaches,and the motivation and learning interest of international students on the teaching of numerical idioms to intermediate and advanced international students are discussed.Finally,we suggest corresponding teaching suggestions for the characteristics of numerical idioms,the layout of teaching materials and teaching methods.The students also designed a comprehensive lesson case with the example of "one example and three examples" to provide some thoughts and feasible practice reference for teaching digital idioms to intermediate and advanced international students. |
