| The General Senior High School English Curriculum Standards(hereinafter referred to as Curriculum Standards)condenses the core qualities of the subject and specifies the essential characters and key abilities that students will achieve after learning the curriculum.As an important part of senior high school English classroom teaching,English reading teaching plays an indispensable role in improving students’ quality of thinking and reading ability,and is also an important way to achieve the standards.At present,in some reading classes under the traditional teaching mode,students’ thinking is pulled by the teacher,and there is no time and space for further thinking,thus students’ thinking quality and reading ability cannot be effectively improved.In view of this,the author tries to apply the question chain teaching mode to senior high school English reading teaching in order to solve the following research questions:(1)How does senior high school English reading teaching based on the question chain teaching mode affect students’ thinking quality?(2)How does the question chain teaching mode affect students’ reading ability?This study is based on Bloom’s(1956)Taxonomy of Educational Objectives Classification theory and Problem Continuum theory,and uses questionnaires,test papers and interview outlines.After the experiment,the author uses SPSS21.0 to compare and analyze the data from the before and after questionnaires and the before and after English reading tests.The data showes that the mean difference between the before and after tests of students’ thinking quality and reading ability is 0.14.The study results showes that: first,the question chain teaching mode applied to high school English reading teaching can improve students’ thinking quality;second,high school English reading teaching under the question chain teaching mode can improve students’ English reading ability. |
