| This paper mainly makes a case study of Lingo Bus,to investigate the situation of Chinese culture teaching for international children. The results show that in the process of Chinese teaching, the teaching objectives of vocabulary and language were relatively clear, while the objectives of cultural teaching were relatively vague.Although there were courses with cultural themes relating to the evolution of festivals,Chinese characters and schools, their main goals tended to focus on the memorization of Chinese characters and a complete expression in Chinese, while culture-relevant content appeared only in the expanded section of exercises,so that, teaching hours being equal, students with limited learning ability had fewer opportunities of being exposed to culture, and the effect of culture teaching was not guaranteed. In the teaching process, the teachers generally paid attention to students’ local cultures with little concern about Chinese culture, which affected the effect of cultural teaching. As shown by my investigation, lack of cultural accumulation directly increased the difficulty in the teaching of Chinese language and its characters. Therefore,it is necessary to input more of Chinese culture into the teaching process.Guided by theories of intercultural communication,TCSOL and child development psychology, this paper adopts the method of combining quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis.First of all, based on a study of existing relevant literature,a questionnaire survey is made of the online situation of cultural teaching, and an interview is made to make up for shortcomings in the questionnaire, and in addition, based on my observation of online teaching,a statistical analysis is made of all the available data to probe into the current situation of online cultural teaching and its causes before putting forward corresponding suggestions and reflections. |
