Cultural teaching,as an important part of international Chinese education and teaching,is to cultivate learners’ cultural awareness and Cultural sensitivity,is one of the important ways to improve students’ communicative competence.In the actual cultural teaching process,the teaching content mainly involves the geographical environment,cultural history,folk festivals,daily life of the target language country.At the same time,based on the principle that cultural teaching should serve language teaching,teachers often design language point in the process of explaining cultural lessons.For students at the elementary Chinese level,the class tasks are heavy,not only to understand the cultural knowledge of the target language,but also to clear up language barriers,and the classroom atmosphere is often boring.Therefore,how to design classroom activities that are lively,interesting and close to real life is an important issue at present.The task-based teaching method can effectively activate the classroom atmosphere and cultivate students’ communicative ability.By applying the task-based teaching method to the teaching of international Chinese education and culture courses,this article aims at the students of the Confucius Institute at Edge Hill University in the United Kingdom to understand the current situation of cultural teaching.According to the problems found,starting from the aspects of students’ interests,classroom atmosphere,task design,acquisition of cultural knowledge and language knowledge,combined with actual teaching,this article launched the teaching design of the international Chinese education culture course based on the task-based teaching method,takes the course of "Chinese Food Culture" as a specific case,conducting research and analysis,and finally reflects and summarizes the teaching feedback such as student evaluation,student classroom response evaluation,and teacher self-evaluation,in order to be able to promote the improvement of the teaching level of Chinese culture courses as a foreign language.Practical research shows that the design of international Chinese education culture courses based on the task-based teaching method can effectively improve classroom efficiency,promote students’ acquisition of cultural knowledge and language knowledge,and help improve students’ Chinese expression ability and cultural awareness of the target language,and promote the practical process of task-based teaching method in international Chinese education and teaching.
