Strategic Research On Geological Survey

Geological work is an important forerunner and foundation of economic and social development, which runs through the cause of economic construction and serves every aspect of economy and society. Since geological survey occupies a basic position in the entire geological work, strengthening its strategic research has become an important approach to achieve sound and rapid development of geological survey.1. The basic tasks of geological survey include collection, processing and distribution of basic geoscientific information and data, in order to serve Chinese Government and the whole society. Geological survey is designed to provide public products.2. China Geological Survey should be of non-profit nature. In other words, it should be a geoscientific research and information department, which provides timely, just and reliable geoscientific information for management and decision making of the government, social and economic development and public demand.3. To carry out geological work, we need to implement preferential strategy of basic geological survey,exploration abroad,scientific and technological innovation a,geological survey,the IT application strategy.4. In accordance with the objective requirements for development of the socialist market economy, non-profit geological survey should be operated in a way different from that of commercial geological work. Non-profit geological survey includes the Central Governmental and local parts, and both should be integrated into their own economic and social development planning. In accordance with the requirements of China's present economic and social development for the national geological work, the proper umber of personnel of China Geological Survey should be 1,5000 people.5. Geological work must gear to demands, be integrated into economic and social development, serve as the support to resource base, environmental base and engineering base, be closely combined further to the national economy and social development and continue to initiatively serve the economic and social development.
