With the rapid development of economic construction and the rising of people's living standards, the human requests of returning to nature and the environmental quality requirements are becoming higher, wooden staircase handrail elbow with its unique natural wood nature, good texture, high strong weight ratio, insulation resistance, electric insulation, workability, decorative features, so more market share are increasingly occupied by wooden staircase handrail elbow. Wooden staircase industry has a huge space for development, but because of processing technology constraints of wood stair handrail elbow, it can only serve as a kind of high-grade decorative consuming products and be used in some high-level architecture. Improving productivity and decreasing production costs of wooden staircase handrail elbow are the key to determine the development and application, and processing methods have the direct impact on productivity and costs, so the processing methods are the key points of wooden staircase handrail elbow. In this paper, key technologies of CNC machining methods of wooden staircase handrail elbow have been studied, the problems of lower productivity and poor processing quality have been solved, the development of wooden staircase handrail elbow industry has been promoted, the consumption levels of wooden stair handrail of our people have been improved.Making a typical space stair handrail elbow as the research object, adopting the method of creating mathematical model,establishing the end cross-section mathematical model and the end cross-section space contour shape mathematical model of the common wooden staircase handrail elbow, if changing the parameters of mathematical model, different curve surfaces modelings of the wooden staircase handrail elbow can be got. While using the industrial design software UG to get simulation testify and optimization of the end cross-section mathematical model, the end cross-section space contour shape mathematical model of wooden staircase handrail elbow and three-dimensional solid simulation model which is got from mathematical model.For CNC machining quality of the wooden staircase handrail elbow, the factors that generate CNC machining errors have been detailed analysis, the solutions and ways have also been appropriate proposed. In the processing part of the switching arc of wooden staircase handrail elbow, in order to avoid over-cutting or less-cutting phenomenon, the corresponding measures have been given, if over-cutting or less-cutting is in the permitted range of errors, the method of using interpolation algorithm to adjust cutting location of molding miller along the X axis and Z-axis has been proposed, to ensure the processing quality and curve contours shape of the wooden staircase handrail elbow. Through analyzing parts process of the wooden staircase handrail elbow, to determine NC machining program of the wooden staircase handrail elbow, adpoting the supporting method of ordinary three-axis CNC machining milling and wooden stair handrail elbow special clamp, to constitute four-axis three linkage CNC machine tools, and to design each component of four-axis three linkage CNC machine tools. Based on virtual prototype technology, the kinematic analysis and simulation testing and evaluation of the special clamps of wood stair handrail elbow with a groove bottem are done, the rationality of speacial clamp design is examined, and it can provide the basis for the manufacture of the physical prototype.The open-ended feed servo drive system hardware platform is constructed based on a programmable motion controller as the core of the structure. The experiment of wood stair handrail elbow with a groove bottem is done, and the experiment results prove that the designe of the machine structure is stabilization, the economic and technical indicators are high, and can fully meet the CNC machining requirements of stair handrail elbow, and Provide a guidance for the further design and completely development of CNC machining system of wooden staircase handrail elbow.
