The core research of ergonomics should emphasize on good human-machine interface. A reasonable human-machine interface design is important for the safety of the whole system, ensuring the working efficiency and the worker' s comfortability and healthy.After China entered the WTO, the study on the human-machine interface of woodworking machinery has caught attention of the ergonomics research, and will be one of the most important research project of woodworking machinery. For a long time, the design of the human-machine interface of sander in China is in an experience way or in a modeling way. Those research methods neither based on efficient theory nor conformed to Chinese . But nothing has been done in this area, especially on ergonomics of the sander.Based on ergonomics theory and its design principles, after doing much experimental test and theoretical analysis, this paper mainly studied on three human-machine interfaces of sander BSG2713QA(the display/control, operation adjusting and noise). Meantime, by experiments and theoretical analysis, this paper pointed out the problems in the old design, obtained the optimum parameters and the design scheme, put forward the goodness-of-fit of human-machine interface as an assessment index, established a stratification fuzzy comprehensive evaluation system(FCES) and the calculating expression of the goodness-of梖it for evaluating and optimum design of human-machine interface.The principle of the research is that the diameter and shape of the operating knob must be fit for the worker' s hand to make sure the worker canuse the maximum strength to attain the maximum torque. How does the dimension of the knob effect the operation human-machine interface was tested by the designed testing system. The result is that the shape of the knob, especially when the knob has a large diameter, has the distinct effect on the maximum torque, and the maximum torque is increasing when the diameter of the knob is increased. But the increasing of the maximum torque is nonlinear. When the diameter of the knob is over 75cm, the maximum torque is decreased.In the display/control interface design of sander, the layout of the display and control component, the geometric size of control platform, the matching and arranging of display and control interface of belt Sander for the woodworking industry was considered. The specific optimum design scheme was put forward.In the noise interface design of sander, the characteristics and spectrum structure of the noise was analyzed. The result is that the sander noise has low and middle frequency. With the increasing of the exposure time, the effect of the noise is more distinct. And the increase of rate of the workers will lead to the decrease of the operation ability and judgment. This can not be ignored.For the first time this paper used a virtual noise source, after forecasting the mesh densification and increasing the sound pressure level in certain point, the isoline map of propagation of the sander Noise level was drew. This can provide bases for choosing the position of the control platform. Up to now, there is not an efficient method to decrease or isolate the sander sound. So the reasonable position and wearing preventing appliance is an efficient way to prevent the sound.The study on optimality evaluating of human-machine interface, especially of the woodworker' s human-machine interface is not reported. Based on fuzzy mathematics theory, this research established a multi-layer fuzzycomprehensive evaluation system. This system includes evaluation model, the structure of the model, index system, evaluation criterion, weight coefficient, evaluation index, calculating expression and calculating software. Not only can the evaluation system evaluate the geometric dimension element of human-machine interface, but can evaluate the non-geometric dimension element.
