This paper consists of two parts of research work. Firstly, the temperature distribution of inner gas and solid material in Rotary Kiln along the Rotary Kiln axes in the calcinations process of the Precalciner are investigated by applied the method of part heat balance in Rotary Kiln and computer simulation. Secondly, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model to forecast the free Calcium Oxide content in the Rotary Kiln calcinations clinker are built and then the quality of the Rotary Kiln calcinations clinker can be forecasted with ANN and MATLAB tool. Some problems in forecasting are discussed.In this paper, the conception of the part heat balance and calculation methods are brought forward firstly. They are more in-depth than the past research of considering the whole Preheater-Decomposition equipment- Rotary Kiln system and the whole Rotary Kiln system as the heat balance system. In this paper, with the method of the part heat balance based on the heat balance theory and condition on the some characteristic temperature of physical and chemical reaction in the calcinations process of cement clinker, the temperature of gas and solid material in Rotary Kiln at the special virtual boundary points are calculated and then the mathematical models which are closer to the fact of the calcinations heat system in Rotary Kiln are created.Regression analyses firstly are employed to analyze the physical and chemical capability parameters, such as the specific heat of the existing interrelated gas and solid with the method of regression statistics and the exact mathematical models are built. With them, precision of the heat balance calculation can be improved in actual simulative calculation.The conception and concrete data of calcinations delay coefficient in Rotary Kiln are firstly brought forward to supposes and analyze the burning process of the fuel and the releasing heat efficiency in Rotary Kiln inner. Thus a new method has been brought out for further analyzing the process of the calcinations and transfer heat.ANN and MATLAB calculation tool were firstly utilized in the field of the forecast of the content of free Calcium Oxide in the calcinations clinker in Rotary Kiln and the quality of clinker. The Results show that the forecast valueof ANN is clearly better than that of regression analysis method. The simulative program of temperature field distribution of gas and solid material in Rotary Kiln were designed with Visual Basic successfully. Using this program, temperature field distribution along the axes of gas and solid material in Rotary Kiln can be described. When the simulative temperature is higher than the normal temperature range, it can give an alarm. This program can also be applied to extrapolate research of heat parameter of Rotary Kiln and training workers for center control.With Visual Basic, MATLAB forecast tool was reasonably transferred into mixed program, in which design the application program of forecasting the free Calcium Oxide content in calcinations clinker in Rotary Kiln with ANN. And furthermore the forecast method of ANN was applied to the cement producing process practically.
