Theory And Application Of Comprehensive Assessment Of Ecological Riparian Zone

Riparian zone ecosystem is the interface between land ecosystem and water ecosystem, which possesses many specific physical and chemical attributes, biotic properties and energy and material flow processes. It's ecological status has directly influenced the ecological status of water ecosystem and land ecosystem. So it is necessary to evaluate the riparian zone.The paper has presented the assessment theory and method of ecological riparian zone. The full-around definition and the function of ecological riparian zone has been expressed and descripted. On the base of the feature of ecological riparian zone, the comprehensive assessment includes structure stability assessment, landscape suitability assessment, ecological health assessment and ecological safety assessment. There are many influent factors on these assessments. After these influent factors had been known, the assessment index system could have been constructed. Because of the hierarchy and fuzzy characteristic of the index system, the hierarchy-fuzzy method has been applied, and the assessment models have been formed . Ecological Riparian assessment-GIS(ERA-GIS) has been developed , by use of which the spatial data , property data and map data have been managed efficiently. The system has been used very well in HuaiHerujiangshuidao. By use of the history data and realtime data in database and assessment models in modelbase, the structure stability, landscape suitability, ecological healthy and ecological safety have been evaluated, while the main problems have been pointed out and the treating methods have been presented.
