Modern Chemistry manifests that the properties and functions of chemical substances are depondent on not only the component molecules, but also the structure beyond the molecular level, which develops a new branch ofchemistry——supramolecular chemistry. Phenylhydrazone derivatives havepotential application in biochemistry, medicine and materials science.This thesis focuses on supramolecular structures of phenylhydrazone derivatives,especially on intermolecular hydrogen bonding and aromatic n-n -stacking interaction.A series of phenylhydrazone derivatives were synthesized by reacting varieties of carbonyl compounds(aldehydes and ketones) with 2,4-dinitrophenyl hydrazine and 4-nitrophenylhydrazine respectively, and thirteen single crystals (never reported before) were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction (see the table below).
