The energy conservation R. C. grid frame structure with insulating form is a kind of structure system with the qualities of energy conservation, earthquake resistance and light dead load. Previous research on similar structures has got certain progress. To optimize the structure system further, more detailed research on heat preservation mold and the reinforced concrete grid frame has been conducted in this article. The prime task completed includes:(1) Based on the mechanics performance study of heat preservation mold material—EPS light weight concrete, the mixture ratio that satisfied strength, heat preservation as well as durability is proposed, the better surface modifier for EPS bead is screened out. The heat preservation mold that meets the demands of energy conservation and strength as permanent form is designed.(2) Mechanism research of the EPS light weight concrete modified by polymer is conducted in virtue of the scanning electron microscope (SEM), the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectrum analysis. The physical effect and chemical reaction of polymer that strengthened the EPS light weight concrete strength is analyzed combined with the appearance and components of the hydrated products.(3) The low cyclic test of grid frame with depth to width ratio 0.69, 1.1 and 2.75 were carried on. Failure mode, bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, energy consuming ability and so on of the grid frame is discussed.(4) Non-linear finite element analysis is adopted to study the grid frame. The internal force, deformation development, failure mode and bearing capacity are simulated, crack formation and development process is decrypted.(5) Failure mode decision method of the grid frame is proposed according to experimental and the finite element analysis result, factors that affects the grid frame performance is analyzed. The practical bearing capacity formulas for normal section and inclined section of the grid frame are summarized.Innovations of this article lie in:(1) Mechanism research of the EPS light weight concrete modified by polymer is conducted in virtue of SEM, XRD and infrared spectrum analysis. The polymer modification manifests in two aspects: one is the nesting function of polymer networks; the other is the optimization for the cement hydration products because that the polymer participated chemical reactions.(2) Failure process, bearing capacity, ductility and so on is discussed based on results of low cyclic test and non-linear finite element analysis. Failure mode decision method and influencing factors for the failure mode of the grid frame are proposed.(3) Theoretical calculation model of the grid frame is proposed according to experimental and the finite element analysis results. The practical bearing capacity formulas for normal section and inclined section of the grid frame are induced.The project was subsidized by the Tianjin natural sciences fund (No.: 06YFJMJC05900).
