Located at deep mountain valleys, high arch dam has the characteristics of complicated hydrogeology condition, hazardous construction environment and difficult in the construction process. Meanwhile, the construction process involves many construction links and is influenced by numerous factors, which brings great difficulty to the construction management and real-time control on the dam site. How to perform dynamic monitoring and analysis on the quality and progress of the construction process, and how to efficiently integrate and analyze the massive construction information to provide technical support for managers to make scientific decision, are the critical problems associated with high-standard, high-intensity continuous high arc dam construction. Studying on the theory and key technology of real-time control for high arc dam construction, the main contents and achievements are as follows:(1) A general integrated model of real-time control system is presented by applying construction dynamic information monitoring method to the construction management of high arch dam project. The main approaches of combining the key technology of construction dynamic information monitoring with control of high arch dam construction process are analyzed. Based on the system decomposition -coordination coupling analysis and construction dynamic information monitoring method, high arch dam construction real-time control theory is presented. Real-time control mathematical model of high arch dam construction based on construction dynamic information monitoring method is built with constraint conditions analyzed in detail, and the real-time control flow is also presented, which has laid a theoretical foundation of applying the methods to real-time control of high arch dam construction process.(2) The data warehouse of dam temperature and grouting is built according to the massive information generated during the concrete temperature control and grouting construction process of high arch dam. Based on the data warehouse, the data mining techniques, such as statistical analysis, association rules and artificial neural network are used to analyze the temperature control and grouting construction information, and thus some valuable rules and knowledge are obtained. The technique of data mining provides an advanced analytic method for the control and management of high arc dam construction. (3) The research on the dynamic simulation of concrete sequence placement construction is carried out and the method of evaluation and optimization of concrete sequence placement in multi-scheme is presented. Based on the analysis about the actual progress of the Jinping first-level high arch dam, dynamic simulation analysis in multi-scheme and comprehensive evaluation and optimization are carried out by utilizing the developed software system which can perform real-time control and analysis on the concrete construction progress. Then the specific measures and corresponding suggestions for hurry work are proposed, which plays an important role in the real-time control of the construction progress on site.(4) On the basis of the above research, a real-time control system for high arc dam concrete construction process under a network environment is developed which integrates collected information, progress simulation and quality control analyses. The system is applied in the construction of the Jinping First-level arc dam which is the highest one in the world. The real-time monitoring and feedback control for high arc dam construction process is realized in the system. Thus, the level and precision of quality monitoring and progress control in the dam construction process is improved. The system plays a vital role in the high arc dam construction process of Jinping first-level hydropower station.
