The cold zone in china is the area needed heating for buildings in winter. Energy conservation efforts for buildings in this area have always been dwelled on thought of how to reduce the energy consumed for heating in winter. On the other hand, the summer days of such area is generally very hot. As the level of people's living is getting higher today, and along with the influence b y the phenomena o f' hot-island' within cities, problems aroused from thermal environment in summer and it's energy c onsumed w ith a ir c onditionings are getting more and more serious for the residential buildings in cold zone.This paper analysis entirely the multiple influencing factors of the indoor thermal environment in summer. Through a numbers of practical investigation and studies, the paper, in the first times, explores the features of thermal environment in summer and the direction and policy of how to get them improved for residential buildings in cold zone. It results in that the study on the thermal environment of rooms with summer natural ventilation in such area is very necessary and truly practical, whatever it is from the views of improving the comfort for the residential environment or of saving the energy. It has been become a key problem of studying the summer thermal environment for residential buildings in cold zone that how we can manage to make practical mode considering all about the winter heating, summer air conditioning and the natural ventilation according to features of residential buildings.There exists c urtain nteraction for each o ther b etween t he n atural v entilation a nd t he indoor air temperature. The tools for thermal environment simulation, evaluation and calculating of rooms with natural ventilation, which are suitable for building forms of residential houses of our nation, are still in a state of scarcity. So, this paper firstly uses a macroscopic model, sets the coupling interaction model with the natural ventilation system and the system of building thermal process; and then makes a dynamic simulation program with the Matlab language. Through the contrast between results of simulating calculation ofthe p rograrn a nd t he v alues o f a ctual m easure, i 11 estified t hat t he p rogram c ould s imulate accurately the indoor thermal environment under the condition of natural ventilation, and it could also offer a practical tool for numerically analyzing the indoor thermal environment and actions by impacting factors in residential houses with a natural ventilation, as well a s for making an optimization of the indoor thermal environment in summer.There are some differences between air conditioning rooms and natural ventilation ones; the same situation exists with their thermal comfort requirements. The paper, aiming for thermal environment characters of residential buildings in cold zone, in the first times by means of fuzzy evaluation, puts forward a fuzzy evaluating model of the thermal feelings in a natural ventilation room of residential houses, which is mainly based on studies of the subjective feelings from people living in such curtain houses and measures of objective data from investigation with questionnaires. On the basis above, the paper sets a multiple evaluating index for the thermal environment, and then according to the critical transferring condition of the natural ventilation and the air conditioning in dwellings, the paper offers a 'correction factor of energy consumption' to make a scientific and correct evaluation for the energy consumed by those sorts of buildings. Further more, the author programmed the subprogram of thermal comfort results by fuzzy evaluation for the natural ventilation room so as to form an entire program, which could make it easy to numerically calculate the indoor thermal environment of residential buildings, and evaluate and analyze its thermal comfort as well features of energy conservation.Using the quantifying analysis of the thermal environment and the calculating program for comfort evaluation, the paper calculates numeric...
