With the social and economic development, as the natural resources was over exploited and used, the natural resources which can be used by people were much more rarely. Building energy consumption accounts for a substantial proportion of the community energy consumption, China's building energy consumption accounts for about one-third of total energy consumption, this number will be increase with the gradual improvement of living standards , energy conservation is imperative. Building energy conservation has become important problem of every country in the world, thereby increasing the standards of building energy efficiency and implement sustainable development in building aspect are the fundamental way to achieve social, economic and ecological sustainably developed. In order to reduce energy consumption, China's construction industry and the scholars have made tireless efforts and issued its own building energy efficiency standards, in this way the building energy efficiency was enforced. In the hot summer months, if the residential construction can be sufficient to meet the indoor thermal comfort requirements by natural ventilation, this can reduce the number of operating hours of air-conditioning, in this way can reduce energy consumption. In the traditional designing residential architecture, the window layout is mainly based on room layout to determine the place for residential housing arrangement of windows and window size. Architect usually doesn't quantitatively determine the effect of ventilation. In this paper, by using CFD technology and Fluent—computational fluid dynamics software to simulate of the effects of ventilation of a residential building with different windows layouts. According to the numerical simulation results of Fluent, and then use the data export function of Fluent, by using Excel's VBA programming functions and Fortran90 data processing functions, Calculated the percentage of specific range of wind speed and temperature in each rooms in respective to the total room area As an indicator of ventilation performance evaluation; also calculated the average wind speed and temperature in all rooms as another evaluation, and finally calculate the distribution of (PMV-PPD)—thermal comfort with the different conditions. With the results of the above post-processing indicators, evaluate the affections of the natural ventilation of the residential building with different windows layouts, so some suggestions can be provided for the architects to determine the way of windows layout and their sizes.
