With the quickening of urbanization in of our country and the mechanization of urban transportation, the status and function of a metropolis will be more important and the traffic problems in the metropolis will become more prominent. Based on the realities of economic and social development of our country's metropolises, this paper has conducted a systematical study that combines qualitative and quantitative analysis of the relationship between the configuration of land-use and the development strategies for transportation by borrowing the transportation development experiences and lessons of foreign metropolises and by means of establishing various types of mathematical models, computer simulations and other methods. The paper then puts forth a complete set of basic notions and technical methods for the development of urban transportation against the different configurations of the conditions in land-use in our country's metropolises, such as how to establish a reasonable structure for the passenger transport system and how to set up a network structure and an overall layout applicable to the urban configuration of land-use.l.By systematically studying the present situations, main features and development trends of the urban configuration of land-use and the interacting relationship between configuration of land-uses and urban transportation, Thus determined the relationship between the configuration of urban land-uses and the total volume of the urban resident travels and it's space distribution and distance distribution.2.Having established the mathematical model suitable to the distribution of the trip and the average trip distance of the residents in metropolises and determined the data-taking scope. By means of the methods like the computer simulation test etc. for simulating different kinds of urban configuration of land-uses, having calculated the distance distribution and space distribution of the total trip volume for urban residents and summarized the second-order Erong distribution model that reflects total trip volume of urban residents and its distance distribution, which can be used as the foundation for studying the urban passenger transport needs macroscopically. With the model, we can measure and calculate more quickly the distance and distribution of the total trip volume of ametropolis, by contrasting with the actual distribution of the trips of our metropolises and can obtain the ideal effects.3. Established the hierarchical level structure for the influence factors of selection of the transportation mode through applying the systematic structure models and through the combination of the establishment of the selected mode of trip and the typical test analysis, having conduced a systematic analysis to the urban transportation need structures under the different conditions to determine the distribution model of each transportation mode for trip on each distance section and the model for the reasonable rate-taking between each transportation mode.4. Studied the different requirements of the different transportation need features under the different urban land-using conditions for the urban transportation networks supply, especially introduced the concept of dynamic trip capacity (turnover volume of travel) and set up the mathematical model for the urban transportation network capacity that corresponds with the urban transportation needs. Studied more systematically the effect of the self-using/self-riding car development level on the formation of the reasonable structure of the urban passenger transport, and determined the train of thought and methods for the reasonable structure of urban passenger transport.5. Put forth the principle and methods of the transportation networks and overall arrangement suitable to the configuration of land-uses of our metropolises. Systematically studied the overall arrangement principles and methods for the urban road networks. Analyzed the effects of the quantity of the public bus dedicated-road...
