Since the beginning of the21st century, China’s comprehensive transportationsystem is developing rapidly, the travel conditions of regions have improved, basicallyformed the integrated transport system that roads and railways are mainly, the commonprosperity of water, air and pipeline transportation, to support national economic andsocial the rapid development. As an important research field of integrated transport system,the structural optimization configuration has caused the great importance of domestic andforeign scholars. Now there are many methods of structural optimization configuration,however, each method is inevitable different with the actual predictions. Therefore we can saythat the traffic structure configuration theory is not fully mature, irrational problems ofsmooth transport corridors, the scale of road network develops lag, the coexist of excesscapacity and transport capacity idle are persist, which led to the phenomena of capitalinvestment wasting, great energy consumption and serious environmental pollution. Theintegrated transport system configuration optimization method is this article’s researchpriorities, in order to contribute for the theoretical construction of China’s overall passengertransportation system, and also for Shaanxi Province integrated transportation system’s futuredevelopment.This article analyzed the research profile of domestic and international passenger structureoptimization, proposed that passenger structure optimization model based on user needs andproposed that passenger structure optimization model based on sustainable development. Thisarticle studied the function characteristics and evolution rule of integrated transportationsystem, proposed the structure configuration research methods of sub-level regionaltransportation system, and combined the space structure function of Shaanxi Provinceintegrated transportation system, analysis from four space-level of the external transportcorridor, the provincial transport structure, intercity transport corridor and urban-ruraltransport corridor, selected optimization model, verified the practicality and effectiveness bymodel tests, and proposed optimization recommendations on the future. At last, evaluatepassenger structure configuration program of Shaanxi Province in the future, according to theestablished evaluation methods of regional integrated transportation system.
