The Study On The Conservation Of Historic Built Environment In Chongqing

Chongqing is a special natural and humane geographical region. Its peculiar natural environment and long history give birth to long-standing Bayu civilization, also have left us rich culture heritage, which are not only our nation's precious treasure, but also the foundation of Chongqing's development of culture and society and the important resource of tourism development .The establishment of Chongqing as a municipality directly under the Central Government, the construction of the Three Gorges project and the implementation of development strategic of the west bring us with the rapid development of Chongqing's social economy and urban construction on the one hand, on the other hand, they also make Chongqing face the threaten of historic culture environment being rapidly destroyed. Then how to conserve historic culture heritage effectively and scientifically in the rapid process of urbanization has become an imminent research topic in the human habitat environmental construction.Applying basic theory of historic culture heritage conservation, and making comprehensive use of city planning, Architecture, history, geography, anthropology, typology, morphology, sociology, economics, law, the science of management on the basis of deep investigation and extensive experience, the thesis analyses the component type, cultural feature and the confronted problem and contradiction of historic built environment in Chongqing, and discusses conservation theory and methods from conservation plan and system these two aspects.The thesis is divided into the following four aspects:The first part (the second, third chapter) is about the systematic induction and analysis of historic built environment in Chongqing. This part analyses thoroughly the natural, historical and cultural backgrounds of historic built environment in Chongqing, induces systematically the type, distribution and cultural feature of extant historic built environment and explains extensively the multi-value of the built environment.The second part (the fourth chapter) is about the analysis of the problems and contradictions which historical built environment in Chongqing is confronted with. The thesis reviews the experience and lessons in the conservation of historic built environment in Chongqing from 1950, analyses the natural and human factors which cause the destruction of the historic built environment in Chongqing and the main contradiction and crisis in the conversation.The third part (the fifth chapter) is about the study of the historical built environment in Chongqing. According to the cultural feature, the situation of preservation and confronted contradiction of the historic built environment, the thesis discusses the integrated conservation method, the feature-maintaining method and the method of combining conservation and development, and tries to prove these methods through the analysis of a vast amount of conservation practice.The fourth part (the sixth chapter) is about the study on the conservation system of the historic built environment in Chongqing. The thesis analyses the present situation and weak link of the conservation system, gives some advice how to reform the system in the current administrative and legal system, and puts forward that improving local legislation, introducing loading system, amplifying public-participating system and strengthening conservation management are the emphasis of the construction of conservation system.
