The genetic algorithm was applied to the traction transformer field for the first time, aiming at the 200Km/h locomotive traction transformer, this paper introduced the suited optimization model, put forward the modified genetic algorithm, finished its optimization designation, realized the least weight aim. Proved that the constringency speed of the modified genetic algorithm is quicker than the tradition genetic algorithm and the optimization results of the former is better than the latter. The paper afforded the optimization design theory bases and reference example of all kinds of traction transformer..Evaporative Cooling technology was applied to the electromagnetic separator field for the first time, designed a set of water-cooling and a set of air-cooling evaporative cooling electromagnetic separator. Model and finished the test of them. Proved the temperature of the winding was low, the intensity of magnetic field was big, the suction was strong and the evaporative cooling electromagnetic separator was the develop direction of electromagnetic separator. The paper set the basis for the manufacture of large Evaporative cooling electromagnetic separator. The success of the air-cooling evaporative cooling break through the tradition scheme of water-cooling, enlarge the applied range, afforded the feasibility reference and technology reservation for the air-cooling technology applying to other electrician equipment.Aiming at the 100KW evaporative cooling rectification transformer, the paper finished the designation of the transformer main body, evaporative cooling cycle system and configuration, processed the test of the filling- evaporative coolant scheme and the oil-mixed evaporative coolant scheme, the test results was analyzed contrastively. On one hand, the paper proved the rationality of the designation of the main body, evaporative cooling cycle system and configuration, on the other hand, proved good cooling effect and the good economy performance of the two schemes. The last two schemes improved the integrative economy technology target. So ,we can say the research of the 100KW evaporative cooling rectification transformer afforded the theory and test basis of the evaporative cooling applying to the electrical power and special type transformer.
