Research On Green Design Method Based On Product Configuration

Green design can satisfy the green consumption and is the effectively approach to clear up the green trade barrier and enhance competitiveness of enterprise. Further more, green design is the inevitable choice to solve the problem of environment and resource shortage and conform to the sustainable development. Due to the wide scope of knowledge and factors involved in green design, it is more difficult to actualize green design with single design method. Green design method, only combined with existing mature design method, can be powered by designer and work well.As one of the key technologies of Mass Customization, product configuration method has been researched more widely and deeply, and forms a sound and mature theory. The design method based on product configuration has been widely applied in manufacturing.Based on the analyses above, a method of green design based on product configuration is presented in this paper. On the basis of analyzing and studying the product configuration model and the green design process based on product configuration, system info of green design based on product configuration is formed. With the help of this design method, green products which can satisfy customers' demands and environment requirements can be designed fleetly. On one hand, product development and manufacturing cycle can be cut down, low-cost and high-quality products which meet individual demands of customers can be provided rapidly. On the other hand, adverse effects to the environment can be decreased or even avoided, green performance of products can be improved.
