Ablation-controlled arc plasma generator is a critical component of energy transition in electrothermal -chemical launch system. Systematic research on piccolo injector is carried out in the dissertation. The main points are as follows:1) The nature of discharge of piccolo injector is discussed. Design method and theory of piccolo injector is brought forward.2) In the guide of these design method and theory, some kind of piccolo injector which can be used in electrothermal -chemical launch system are designed, named as A1.A2.B, C and D.3) According to the systematic experiments research on piccolo injector plasma generator, the comprehensive experimental character of plasma generator is summarized with different conditions.4) The piccolo injector is used in the electrothermal -chemical launch experiments. The character of plasma generator surrounded by high-temperature and high-pressure gas is summarized. Some difficulties that occurred when the plasma generator used in the interior ballistics circumstance, such as seal, insulation and so on is solved. New materials and techniques are applied in the plasma generator.5) The differences of character when these kind of plasma generator are used in the electrothermal -chemical launch system are discussed, and the reason is analyzed. The relationship between piccolo injector and propellant is researched. Some kind of propellants are fit for the piccolo injector, such as 4/7, 5/7 and so on. The relationship between piccolo injector and ballistics parameters is studied. The best electric parameter for the application of plasma injector in the small caliber electrothermal -chemical gun is found.6) Working process of the piccolo injector plasma generator is analyzed and computing model is modified. Improving the piccolo injector model, and having the coupling computation with the model of interior ballistics. From the result of experimentation, the model is validated and can be used in predicting experiment.
