With the rapid development of the computer technology and modern control technology, the digital disperser control system (DCS) has become a standard model for the thermal power plant control system. Its control to the power unit has become perfect day by day and its length of penetrate has been enhanced with this, which has been developed from the surveillance and control of the sole system to the main center control system of the entire power unit. And the DCS human-machine interface design also has changed greatly. The traditional control model, general instruments combination with the able hand holds monitoring, has been cancelled and substituted for by the CRT operator stands, the soft hand holds, the typical parameter measuring appliance and the essential able hand holds. The human-machine interface design quality determines the success or failure of the entire DCS design directly. The thermal power plant DCS human-machine interface evaluation is an important issue which we must focus on.This article discusses the human-machine interface comprehensive evaluation theory and method and proposes the human-machine interface evaluation method and software design thought based on the gray cluster analysis theory. According to existed international and national human-machine engineering standards, standard/regulations related to the electric power industry and thermal power plant reality in our country, the subjective and objective evaluation standards for the thermal power plant DCS human-machine interface has been determined. The comprehensive evaluation index system has been established for the human-machine interface design. The thermal power plant DCS human-machine interface comprehensive evaluation software has been developed. The key parts of this paper are listed as such.1. The paper has systematically studied the artificial neural network, the...
