Pluralism is a trend in architectural realm today, which is reflected in three trends: great narrative, private narrative, and business operation. However, the diversity creation and great construction result in the average works. It leads to the average phenomena in architecture. The average architectures reflect the average people, whether the designer or the user, which is expressed by the crisis in identity.Identity has become a question in society. Identity includes not only individuals and the mass, but also the professional role and the subject. Thus, the identity of contemporary architects has three aspects: the identity of professional role, the self identity and the works identity.Contemporary architects have to be reshaped by the powerful culture. As a result, they turn to shape themselves in a mirror. It brings about tortures in individuals.The situation emphasizes the importance of dialogues. It is a mission for the intellects to improve themselves, which should be the target for the professional architects. The mission is towards the society. Finally, it helps the architects to shape the personality, which is the quality of totality in architects, artists and intellects.
