This paper is mainly reseach the traveler behavior of urban passenger transport, which based on the research of traveler physiology and phychology characteristics, connect with the trip generation characteristics. The main content and conclusions are shown below:1. The trip generation: this part is from the view of the traveler self to re-recognise on the travel behavior of urban passenger transport system. On the base of this it analyzes the action process of traveler, and connect with the the human-machine interface,then investigates the intrinsic produce reasons of travel behavior, and three levels of travel behavior, to ensure the generation process modes and the normal behavior process and the basic characters. On the base of these research, it analyzes the travel distance, time and intention to constitute the travel behavior willing model. The research indicates that when the travel distance, time and intention are different the travel willing is different as well. The essential and intrinsic reasons of the difference is a complex problem. So it is necessary and signifiable to make sure the physiology and psychology characteristics from traveler themselves.2. Study of the traveler physiology characteristics: this part presents the basic concept of traveler physiological load. It also presents that using energy metabolism related index to measure the physiological load produced in the travel behavior process, which based on the character of energy support, energy metabolism, physiological load threshold and body recover. On the base of that, the traveler physiology tolerance capability including the academic persistence time and traveler recover process of different travel modes is studied. The conclusion offers the basilica foundation of studying traveler physiology characteristics and the physiological reason of studying traveler psychology characteristics. On the base of these, the energy consuming quantity in unit time is reckoned by analyzing the ratio of factual and activity energy metabolism of different travel modes. In the end, the absolute energy consuming quantity and the relative energy consuming quantity rate are elicited, that shows the physiological consuming characteristics of different travel distance. 3. Study of traveler psychology characteristics: the physiological base of traveler psychology and the process principles of traveler psychology activity of urban passenger transport system are analyzed. On the base of that, the thesis studys the modes of physiological activity process. With studying the model of individual and mass physiological activity process, the thesis researches the traveler psychological state at first. Then the thesis puts forward using the traveler psychology load measuring the traveler state. At last, the thesis sets up the model of traveler psychology load, and construes the influencing factors of this load. Following the thesis discovers the influence of psychology load to traveler decision. On the base of which, the relative superiority to different travel modes is set up from the view of time, velocity, convenience, fee and activity area of the travel process. By the study of this part the traveler psychology characteristics is hold in whole.4. Study of traveler physiological and psychological response of travel behavior: on the base of analyzing the inter-action of traveler physiology and psychology in activity process, the thesis the appear cresearches the causation for travel weariness. And then the thesis puts forward using the specifically comfort to measure the traveler weariness degree. With studying of the willing for travel, the thesis measures the different comfort degree of five zones. Then the thesis puts forward using the traveler recover characteristics to measure the weariness loss for discomfort in activity process. And then, the travel tolerance is put forward to measure the outcome of inter-action for traveler physiology and psychology. At last, the thesis studys the tolerance for different traffic modes on different travel aim. The result of these study is that the travel behavior has its physiology and psychology base, and the activity process is the result of the inter-action for traveler physiology and psychology load. The study of this part offers the theoretics and date base for traveler decision-making.5. Study of the urban passenger transport mode choice model: this part sets up the urban passenger transport mode choice model, which based on the theory research mentioned in the present chapters. Then the thesis analyzes the keyelements of the model--utility function, and then finds out the functionrelationship of utility function and travel distance when travelling. Because of the variability and complexity of parameter calculating, the thesis designs the computer mathematics and using Delphi program to realize. Finally, it takes Chengdu City as an example to testify the model. The result shows that it is reasonable and effected of research on the psychology and physiology characteristics to study the travel behavior of urban passenger transport system.
