Characteristics Of Urban Agglomeration Intercity Passenger Travel Behavior

With the rapid formation and development of urban agglomerations, accelerating economic integration within the urban agglomeration and urbanization process, the communication of technology and material between cities have become closer and inter-city passenger travel demand has presented the trend of diversity. However, due to inter-city transportation structure is irrational, not meet the fast-growing intercity passenger travel needs, which is likely to cause traffic congestion, waste, pollution and other environmental problem, even worse it will hinder economic integration and urbanization. Intercity rail construction can ease the pressure of transportation system, and can provide high-quality services for passengers. It can also promote regional economic integration process. And therefore, the analysis of travel behavior characteristics of urban agglomeration intercity passenger s is the premise and condition of intercity rail’s planning and construction.This paper introduces the basic theory of urban agglomeration. Then, the author has analyzed the evolution of inter-city transportation from two aspects : the demanding characteristics and the supplying characteristics. Then the inter-city comprehensive traffic survey method was proposed based on the changing in position of mobile phone to get OD data.Finally, the definition of intercity passenger travel process, the factors affecting passenger travel choice, the characteristics of passenger travel behavior have been introduced. Through the theoretical analysis section above, the author take the examples in this article to analyze the characteristics of the passenger travel behavior at present and to predict the changes in characteristic of passenger behavior in the future.
