Large-scale hydropower projects have great scope and complex technical-natural conditions. The construction design in the project delivery stage is the implementary general planning of engineering construction. It is a complicated, fussy and arduous task, which has a great impact on the project. However, it is hard for traditional stepwise mode based on feasibility study results to obtain the better delivery layout scheme. Therefore, considering large amounts of factors and constraint relations among different package constructions, a complete methodological scheme is presented to realize construction simulation and optimization analysis of large-scale hydropower engineering in project delivery stage. It integrated with advanced theories and methods from hydraulic and hydropower engineering science, computer science, simulation technique and systems engineering science.In general, the following four achievements are obtained in this dissertation:(1) The theory and approach of construction simulation orienting to the hydropower project delivery stage was put forward. According to the scientific problems and the actual demands, the overall structural system of the delivery construction simulation was presented. It included the classified method of delivery construction simulation objects, dynamic simulation and 3D visual simulation methods of delivery primary engineering and total system. They provide important theoretical basis.(2) The applied construction simulation and optimization analysis technique of delivery primary works was presented. Aiming at the construction feature and the schedule demand of diversion construction, dam engineering and underground power house, the complex and large systems were decomposed and coupled by the theory of system composition, decomposition and control. Then, the simulation models, dynamic simulation methods and optimization algorithms were illustrated to represent and analyze their construction processes, and corresponding software programs were developed.(3) The simulation and optimization technique of construction transportation and construction site layout was brought forward. Based on the simulation computation optimization analysis of delivery primary works, some approaches were implemented to solve the problems of reasonable layout and scheme demonstration. There were the construction simulation approach of traffic and transportation, the 3D visual modeling and dynamic simulation approach of construction site layout. They provide powerful technical measures for analyzing and evaluating the rationality of construction transportation and construction site layout schemes . (4) The above theories, methods and techniques have been applied to the Jinping first-level hydropower project located on the Yalongjiang River wholly and successfully. Based on the preliminary delivery scheme, the simulation computation and optimization analysis were studied in depth for diversion construction, concrete dam construction, underground structure group construction, construction traffic and transportation, and construction site layout. The feasibility of preliminary scheme was evaluated rationally, and the optimized delivery scheme was obtained, which was the implementary scheme in the practical engineering construction.
