Study Of Theory And Methods On Extension Design For Historic Buildings Protection

The historic building is a special type of the cultural relic and architecture. It has become an important issue to protect historic buildings. The practice to protect historic buildings is carrying out dramatically; however, the study on protection theory cannot match the speed of protection practice. Meanwhile, most of the theories on historic building protection are only studied in the academic layer and the technical layer. Therefore, it is necessary to explore a new protection theory and methods, which would bring great benefits for the historic building protection project.Based on the experience theory and extenics, the theory and methods of extension design for historic building protection were systematically studied and described in three aspects, such as protruding experienced individuality, constructing systematical form and expressing essential meaning, considering of the experienced mechanism of the historic building.First of all, besides the background, objectives and purposes of this study were introduced, the main concept and relative theory of historic buildings protection, experience and extension design were also introduced. Based on the current study situation of the home and abroad, the main content, methods and the study framework were put forward.In addition, the experienced mechanisms for historic buildings and the countermeasures of protective design were illuminated in the dissertation. The experienced mechanisms for historic buildings of the entertaining, esthetic, educational, escapist and compositive types were studied. And the experience content, the experiencer characteristic and the experience method of historic buildings in the different experience types were analysized. The countermeasures of protective design included of three aspects of protruding experienced individuality, constructing systematical form and expressing essential meaning. Compared with the conventional protective design, the historic buildings would make satisfied with experiencers better and achieve value by these protective designs.In the basic theory of extension design for historic building protection was studied. The correlative concept of extension design for historic building protection was analysed. The Basic-element analysis on historic building protective design, the types of contradictory problems and establishment of the contradictory problem model were studied. Extension Analysis Principles, Conjugate Analysis Theories, Extension Transformations Principles, Dynamic Transformation Principles of protective design of historic buildings and Models for Creative Thinking in extension design for historic building protection were studied. Using the theory and method of extension design in protective design of historic buildings is possible and feasible. The basic theory of extension design for historic building protection was primarily theorized.Furthermore, the extension designs for historic buildings protection of the entertaining, esthetic, educational, escapist and compositive types were respectively studied. Meanwhile, all the extension design flow models were summarized. Extension design for protruding experienced individuality included of divergent tree of deciding the proper experienced theme and extension transformation of setting the feasible function. Extension design for constructing systematical form included of implication system of protecting the noumenal form, decomposition and dombination chains of designing the additive establishment, correlative net of protecting environment scene. Extension design for expressing essential meaning included of the imaginary and the real conjugate pair of expressing the noumenal meaning, decomposition and dombination chains of expressing the relative content, decomposition and dombination chains of expressing the environment meaning and the soft and the hard conjugate pair of designing the experience way.The theory and methods of extension design were used in protective planning of Qinglongdong in Zhenyuan, Guizhou Province and renovation planning of surrounding environment around Guandaoyamen in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. Therefore, protective planning of Qinglongdong and renovation planning of surrounding environment around Guandaoyamen were more rational and scientific by applying the extension design theory and methods. Their experienced characteristics were protruded. It can clearly be seen that the theory and methods of extension design of historic building protection have practicalness and operability. These practices were preliminary exploration of the theory and methods.The theory and methods of the extension design for historic buildings protection indicated that applying the experience theory and extenics would contribute to the historic buildings protective design, to experience of historic buildings, and to learning the value of historic buildings. To sum up, applying the experience theory and extenics for historic buildings protective design would bring great benefits to the apocalypse and reference function of ontological and methodological lay.
