The market competition is the product competition in the final analysis. PDC(Product Design Chain) is a system which satisfies the market and consumers with products or services developed by a group of enterprises(or organizations) cooperate with customers. This system takes the product development as the link and takes the computer information technology and the internet communication techniques as the support. The effective management of PDC can cut down the time of the new products coming into the market, reduce the cost and improve the creativity of the product.This thesis lucubrates some key techniques of PDC systematically, including the product information modeling and the management of design change of conceptual design, partner choices and etc. The prototype of Conceptual Design System for Product Design Chain(CDS-PDC) is constructed..The main study contents as follows:(1) A model of cooperation design is presented to meet the variable demands of the customers. The model sets up a product demand description structure on the basis of constraint for each partner. When the demands change, conferring with the kernel enterprise, revise the description structure by cooperation design software integrated systematically with CAD system to adapt the product design to the variety of the consumers. Coordination of PDC is expounds, the importance of product information sharing to coordination is emphasized, and a coordinate model of PDC based on multi-agent is proposed. Based on analyzed shortage of design chain operations reference model, the hierarchical model of PDC is provided. Conceptual design of PDC is discussed deeply, a conceptual design system framework of PDC is established.(2) The essay offers product information model based on the ontology of conceptual design. It studies the concrete content and the expression methods of the non-geometry, geometry and files relationship information. Use the model of F-B-S (Function-Behavior-Structure) to express the non-geometry information. Describe the geometry information of conceptual design in a formalization EXPRESS modeling language, realize the mapping from EXPRESS to OWL. Describe the files relationship information by XML semantic methods. According to the integration of conceptual design information in PDC ontology mapping, it achieves semantic coherence of product information, in favor of achieving searches, sharing, consequence and reuse of information.(3) Offer the method of change management based on the configuration management of conceptual design. According to the current shortage of conceptual design change management , as the structure and constitute of the product is not definite in PDC conceptual design , the essay brings out an idea that combine files relationship with configuration management to deal with the change of conceptual design. Build up conceptual design process of PDC based on analyzing the former conceptual design process. Formalized and definitely describe the files relationship during the conceptual design, and set up a change control process according to the configuration management.(4) The essay studies the design time of product development, the indefinite of the cost and the risk, and brings out the selective model of PDC partner according to the risky and robust decision. Using the fuzzy maths theory to quantify and aggregated the risk during the process of the product development, realize the requirement of the time, cost and the risk control of product development under the different decisions and attitudes. It offers an optimization algorithm mixed genetic algorithm with ant algorithm to improve the efficiency, which explains the model, uses advantages of each other.(5) CDS-PDC prototype is constructed based on Web Service. UML is used to analyze and design system. System use case diagrams,class diagrams and sequence diagrams are established. System implementation is specified.
