Ontology-based Collaborative Design Of Product Information Modeling And Mapping Studies

Product information model is the foundation of the control and management of the collaborative design process and the function body used to express the structure,organization,constraints and properties of the co-design object.In collaborative design process, group designers from different areas can generate ambiguity to the concept of the product because of their different field knowledge and this can cause the design conflict.Therefore,how to build a unified and complete product information model has become the prior task of the collaborative design.The current model for product information are all based on the description of the syntax level and can not express the information elements based on semantic levels.The ontology can just to solve the modeling problems of the collaborative design information model due to its excellent semantic skills and the characteristics of sharing, reuse and interoperability to knowledge. Therefore it is of great theoretical significance and application value to study the construction of the Ontology-based collaborative design information model.The main research work are as follows:(1) For the characteristics of mechanical products, the part ontology, feature ontology, argument ontology, constraint ontology and requirements ontology of the mechanical products are constructed.(2) On this basis, select the centrifugal pump as an example,Construct the ontology of centrifugal pump and build centrifugal pump product information database by product database model.As the construction of ontology is for static environment and different ontologies can not interact information.So in this paper, ontology mapping was used to solve the ontology heterogeneous problem.The approach is realizing the mapping between the local ontologys through establishing the mapping of the local ontology to the global ontology.Great workload of ontology mapping is reduced.(3) Develop collaborative design information access platform of centrifugal pump In traditional product collaborative design, the semantic of information model is simple, and information can not be integrated and shared. In this paper, all of these problems are effectively solved by using ontology building product information model in the Collaborative Design. This method can shorten the product development cycle, and provides a strong support to co-design. With an example, it vrifies the feasibility of and efficiency of the method through collaborative design platform.
