The large-area frame-thick raft foundation as underground garage is usually set as regular column grid, while the circular frame-corewall structure load on the basis and foundation is similar to the spread of radial. Because of variances of the two structural system and great differences between the rigidity and load, working performance of the whole structure is very complicated. So far research on this topic is very rare. This paper researches on the interaction of soil and large-area frame-thick raft foundation under the circular frame-corewall superstructure and square-shape superstructure based on model test and numerical calculation. According to the test result, the effective spreading region of circular frame-corewall load is the annexes region from the superstructure of one span with large contact pressure and homogeneous settlement and the contact pressure attenuates as circle ; The annexes between multi-towers show limited rigidity influenced by multi-towers load ; As frame-thick raft are cantilevered out for two span , the region between the main buildings corner and the raft corner is the weakest part and shows obvious flexible plate characteristics. In this paper, computer program for space frame-thick raft on limited compression soil layer using finite element method was compiled by means of the energy principle and the calculating results are consistent with the test results. The program can be applied to approximately calculate contact pressure and settlement of frame-thick raft foundation under irregular vertical load.
