Switched Reluctance Motor ( SRM ) is a new type of mechatronic energy transferring device coming up from 70s in the last century, having significant advantages like simple and firm structure, low costs, ability of high fault-tolerance operation ,low speed and high torque, high energy density and operation at high temperature and so on. Vehicle ISAD ( Integrated Starter Alternator Damper ) system is an integration of multi-functions of startup, boost, generating electricity and damp. Application of SRM to hybrid power vehicles ISAD system has been recently a hot issue in the field of vehicle technology both at home and overseas.This paper briefly studies the application of SRM in the system of vehicle ISAD It establishes mathematic model of SRM in electric and power-generating status, combining with functions and characteristics of ISAD system. It brings forward optimum excitation parameters criterions of SRM in four working modes which are startup, boost, generating electricity respectively, on which constructing of its control strategy is based. With the MATLAB and its SIMULINK tool box, the validity and rationality of control strategy is verified though simulation. Furthermore, two kinds of SRM Starter/Generator experiment platforms are formed and tested with experiments.1.With the complete hardware controller of CPLD, experiment platform scheme of SRM starter/generator is established. Complete hardware controller of SRM starter/generator( Controller consists of internal logics circuits of CPLD Chip EPM7128SLC84-15 of Altera MAX7000S Series, analog test circuits, peripheral angle regulating circuits and signal detecting circuits )and specific design of power converter are finished. A series of experiments including motor-blocking test, electrical test ,open-loop generating electricity and close-loop generating electricity, etc, are tested by one sample machine with three-phrase and 6/4 structure. In terms of relative experiment data and current waves, operation features of complete hardware control system are discussed and validity and feasibility of SRM starter/generator control system in the form of complete hardware are verified.Research results show that vehicle-use SRM startup/boost/generator integration scheme bought forward in this paper is feasible in practice, digital controller and control algorithm are corrective and effective. SRM starter/generator experiment scheme is achieved with DSP+CPLD digital controller based on DSP Chip TMS320F240 and CPLD Chip EPM7128S as nucleus. Combining functional characteristics and requirements of ISAD system, we discussed control strategy of SRM with the 12/10 structure in working modes of electric, boost, generating electricity, completing hardware and software design of vehicle-use 12/10 SRM digital control system as nucleus of DSP, assistant of CPLD, commissioning and optimizing digital control system and establishing integrative functions of startup, boost, generating electricity of sample machine. With a series of experiments, experiment data, waves as well as analysis conclusion are given. Experiment results show that integration scheme of vehicle-use SRM startup/boost/generator is feasible in practice and control system, control method as well are corrective and effective.Innovation work of this paper encircling the research of ISAD system is in brief followings:1.This paper, for the first time in domestic, launches the research work of vehicle-use SRM ISAD system, putting forward optimum excitation parameters criterions and control strategy of SRM in different working modes of ISAD system.2.This paper, for the first time , launches the research work of SRM starter/generator system with 12/10 structure, thus precious experience is accumulated.3.This paper, for the first time ,uses the complete hardware control system based on CPLD to control SRM ISAD system, it simplifies structure of the system, and improves the its stability and practicability, especially the complete hardware SRM angle position control circuits based on CPLD and gains excellent control effects.4.This paper ,for the first time, uses the control system based on DSP+CPLD to control the SRM ISAD system, it simplifies the structure of the system and improves the performance and stability of the system.
