Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM) is a new type of integrative device, which has been developed from the 80s, last century. Compared with other motors, Switched Reluctance Motor provided with simpler and firmer structure, lower cost, high-fault function, high energy density, producing high torque when speed is low, and so on. So in recent years there is a growing interest in it. In this dissertation, we will research on a new type SRM, which has 12 poles in its stator and 10 poles in the rotor. The method used in analysis is Finite Element Method or FEM.Firstly, the ISAD system was discussed, then the basic theory of Switched Reluctance Motor was debated detailly.Secondly ,design of the structure parameters of 12/10 SRM was present, and more, the design of 12/10 SRM structure parameters. Next the transient FEM models of SRM were created. Based on the models, several aspects were studied and discussed in detail by FEM software Maxwell 2D , such as invariant speed starter state in CCC and position control methods and generate performance, also analyzed the results carefulness. This paper discusses the calculation of the iron loss, copper loss, mechanical losses and stray loss in the switched reluctance machine, On the basis of this, the effects of iron loss are analyzed by different phases SRM.At last, on the base of theory analysis research, the experiment platform was established and start/generate experiments of 12/10 SRM were carried out and the experiment results were generally accord with the simulation results above.
