Issues On Chinese Architectural Thoughts In The New Period

From 1980s, China has entered a new period, in which we must realize system transformation development. Due to the reformation and open to the outside, great changes have taken place in both the national primary and international symbiotic environment. Contemporary Chinese architecture is in the situation of overall reconstruction. In the recent more 20 years, the foreign architectural theories, especially the contemporary western architectural trends, have exerted deeply influences on Chinese architecture. But, architectural theories based on Chinese culture have not been researched deeply showing a phenomenon of lagging.Architectural theories breaking away from practice strictly, can not be adapt to great needs of architectural creativity. Flourishing market of design and flatting architectural theories form a bright contrast. One reason for the contrast is being lack of systematic study. Then we can sum up some experiences from these studies to provide actual ideas for architectural creation.We develop the studies in thesis fashion. By using the method of statistical analyze there are many statistics on the basic materials, which can reflect architectural thoughts in the new period of China. These materials include explorations of architects and four architectural journals and Doctor and Master thesis of four schools. The time is from 1980 to 2005. From the statistic results, this thesis discusses the development status of Chinese architectural theories in the new period , and analyze the vary meanings ,stations and contents in the vary period. At the same time , it studies the developing trace of Chinese architectural theories and analyses the actuality,pathway and main issues of the importing theories. There are our own architectural thoughts and foreign architectural thoughts, the thesis concludes and summarizes all of them.At the part of building the theory frame of architectural theories having Chinese characteristics, this thesis puts forward the principles followed, expecting to have some reference sense in researching architectural theories of our country.
