| As a new structure, gabion reinforced soil retaining wall is more and more taken into use in engineering in China. However, the working mechanism of gabion mesh reinforced soil, specially dynamic characteristics of gabion reinforced soil retaining wall under traffic loading or seismic loading, is very few researched. In this paper, the previous studies on reinforcd soil retaining walls are summarized and studies on structural characteristic, reinforced mechanism, reliability, dynamic response and seismic property of gabion reinforced earth retaining walls are carried out. The main contents include:(1) With red sandstone backfill, friction characteristics and stress-strain curves of different reinforcements are studied based on pull-out tests, which provide a reference for the design of gabion reinforced soil retaining wall in red sandstone areas.(2) Discussion is made on dynamic characteristic of gabion reinforced soil retaining walls. Model tests are designed by similarity theory and dynamic response characteristics of gabion reinforced soil retaining walls under cyclic loading are obtained. Besides, life analises are made on gabion reinforced soil retaining walls by fatigue life analysis theory.(3) Research is carried on seismic response characteristics of gabion reinforced soil retaining walls. Seismic model tests are designed by similarity theory and seimic response characteristics of gabion reinforced soil retaining walls under seismic loading are obtained. And analyses are made on dynamic earth pressure, acceleration, and random displacement response of gabion reinforced soil retaining walls by Newmark sliding model theory.(4) Based on constitutive model of soil and reinforcement-soil, a numerical analysis program is compiled by finite difference method. Strength and deformation characteristics of green reinforced gabion retaining wall under seismic loading are analysed by 3D finite difference method. The behaviors such as horizontal displacement, settlement of retaining wall, earth pressure of basement and distribution of lateral earth pressure along wall-back are obtained.(5) Based on the random reliability theory, study on reliability of reinforced gabion retaining wall under random excitation of vehicle loading is made, and applicable conclusion and advice are proposed; Based on the theory of artificial neural network, a method for relability calculation of reinforced gabion retaining wall is put forward and a calculation program is compiled by using MATLAB. And besides, comparison is made on different calculation methods; Based on fuzzy theory, a method for random relability calculation of reinforced gabion retaining wall is put forward and another calculation program is compiled by using MATLAB. A method for reliability parameter sensitivity analysis of retaining wall is put forward and parameter sensitivity analysis is made.(6) Finally, summary and conclusions are drawn. Further research and some drawbacks are assessed. |
