Special studies about area lighting in natatorium were carry out in this dissertation, and tap the potential of energy saving of area lighting in natatorium。In a variety of natatoriums, the high standard venue which has the requirement of HDTV broadcast got a deeper energy-saving potential. Therefore, this dissertation selected a high standard HDTV broadcast natatorium as the object of study. First of all, the study of illumination level carried out for the swimming pool: According to the characteristics of swimming, this paper proposed test indicators and application methods which are different from the current design criterion, and got the applicable indicator values through testing and analysis. Furthermore, proposed test indicators and their application methods for the area lighting of diving pool based on the characteristics of diving. Then carried out the studies about the relationship between color render index and HDTV broadcasts, through the subjective evaluations to television images, this paper got the conclusion that light environment created by a lower color render index lamp could meet the demand of HDTV broadcasts. Water surface glare is a unique problem existed in area lighting of natatorium; this paper discusses the impact of water surface glare produced by various factors, and through experiments, analysis of which leads weakening the impact of design parameters of the surface glare value and design guidance. The works mentioned above composed lighting design criterion for a high-standard natatorium in HDTV broadcast mode.Under the guidance of this design criterion, an energy-saving area lighting design pattern for high standard natatorium was composed in this research, and proposed a layout program that swimming pool & diving pool share parts of the illuminariers, and in accordance with the needs of energy-saving mode, diagram variable aiming variable illuminarier was proposed in this research. Finally, through simulation verification of energy-saving lighting design pattern to meet the requirements of the area lighting of high standard natatorium, and energy-saving pattern compared to the same level natatorium with installed power of conventional lighting model was reduced by 30%, and a variety of operating modes can be consumption were reduced to varying degrees.
