In the present experiments, survival rates of overwintering axillary buds and stems were observed in different altitudes; To analyze the overwintering ability and genetic variation of main agronomic traits in different season, the F1,backcross F1 and F2 population were constructed from sexual crossing among Glutinou89-1 and HongMangNuo,FuHui838,MingHui63,Ce64; A molecular linkage map of 122 SSR markers was constructed by using a F2 population including 312 single plants derived from a cross of indica and japonica Glutinous rice 89-1 / Shuhui527. The overwintering ability of axillary buds (OAAB) of F2 single plants were identified under the low temperature in the winter, and the quantitative trait loci (QTLs) analysis of OAAB were also conducted based on the SSR markers, in addition , the quantitative trait loci (QTLs) analysis of the plant height, panicle length, efficient panicle, 1000-grains weight and days to heading were also investigated. Furthermore, the variation coefficient, clustering analysis and variation of rice quality researched of 12 rice quality traits among 10 different varieties in 5 different altitude at the same ecology area. The main results are as follows:Glutinous rice 89-1 could overwinter by the axillary buds dormancy to resist the low temperatures at different altitudes. The dormant axillary buds would ratoon in the next year (axillary buds derived from the inverse 5th and 6th) .Survival rates of rice stem and axillary buds were 82.6%, 29%, respectively. Most of the rice plants could burgeon enough overwintering plants with the unanimity growth. Days for maturity were longer 5 days in overwintering season than that of the main season. Grain yields was 6291.0 kg/hm2 in overwintering ratooning season, and corresponded with that of the main season. The results of cold tolerance indicated that the cold tolerance of glutinous rice 89-1 reached one grade in bud bursting period and seedling period, whereas that was very low in...
