Collation of ancient books needs to accumulate a wealth of literature. In the time of network use, traditional practices such as accumulating knowledge by memory and recording literature on paper have been difficult to adapt to the demands of the times. Computer has unparalleled superiority on information storage, processing, retrieval, utilizing in contrast with traditional ways. We could get free from manual labor, so as to greatly improve efficiency. For this reason, Information technology has been used in the field of social science research. Collation of ancient books by information technology is not new, we should use for reference.With computer, communications and Internet technology development, the information technology has infiltrated all areas of society; of course, collation of agricultural ancient books by modernized research tools is inevitable. Digitization of agricultural ancient books is collation means modernization networking and intelligent.This paper is focus on the collation of agricultural ancient books, and analyses digital means in-depth. A brief review of major achievements of collation of agricultural ancient books in 20^th century and the development of ancient books digitization, ancient books collated by digital means is necessary and feasible. Respectively, it discusses on the construction of agricultural ancient books bibliographic database and full-text database and the design of agricultural ancient books metadata standards. As an example of the design and construction of Information Web Site of Chinese Agricultural Heritage, construction methods and procedures of composite database are illuminated.
