Ceratoides arborescens,a species in Ceratoides is a kind of semi-shrub living in drought habitat. It not only has strong anti-wind, sand-fixing, and water and soil conserving ability, but also possesses relatively high nutrition value. At present, the lack of research on becoming the seedling technology has limited its production and popularization. By investigating the seedling growth dynamics of its population, its germination property, and the seedlings'anti-drought and salt-tolerant ability, and analyzing the effects of various factors, such as temperature, sowing depth, membrane covering, fertilization and water, on seedlings growth when it is established in desert grassland, this thesis raised key technique on seedlings mechanism, membrane-covering planting, and seedling transplanting of Ceratoides arborescens, and it is significant to production.The results are the following ones:1 Ceratoides arborescens reproduces itself by seeds. Its seeds, attached with long feather, are small and light and easy to spread with wind, and there is no dormancy phenomenon by themselves. During the whole year, the survival number of seedlings had a tendency of decreasing. Drought is the main factor which limiting the establishing of seedlings.2 The seedlings of Ceratoides arborescens have relatively high anti-stress ability. The seedlings endure the drought stress mainly by decreasing their aboveground growth, and extending their roots system, which improve their anti-drought ability greatly. The anti-drought ability of Ceratoides arborescens is higher than that of Agropyron cristatum L.and is generally as same as that of Caragana korshinskii Kom. Moreover, it can endure the salt-stress of low concentration.3 The germination of seed needs enough heat time accumulation. In the desert grassland of western Inner Mongolia, the heat time accumulation is 22℃. membrane-covering treatment can effectively improve survival maintains an adequate supply of seedlings. It is best to be planted in the middle and late part of May, and the sowing depth is best to be 1-2cm. the regular pattern of dry material distribution of Ceratoides arborescens is stem>root>leaf>flower.4 Irrigation and fertilization are the two important factors that determine the establishing of seedling and the plant production. Single spray irrigation increased production by 16.64% than check. With grass production, flood irrigation is better than spray irrigation for many times,which is better than single spray irrigation. But with root system growth, treatment by spray irrigation for one time is obviously better than that for three times and that of flood irrigation. Moderate drought can promote the vertical growth of its roots. With seed fertilization (urea+ Phosphoric acid two ammonium),grass production increased from 847.59 to 1347.84 kg/hm2 ,that is 21.72-93.56% more than check. Seedling stage topdressing use phosphoric acid two ammonium urea, phosphoric acid two ammonium和urea + phosphoric acid two ammonium,increased respectively 45.61%,67.49% and 92.36% more than check,and, in the next year, increased respectively 12.37%,19.53%,26.27% more than check。5 Seedling transplanting of Ceratoides arborescens in desert district is an effective way to improve establishing survival rate. There is no big difference between seedlings of 7 months old and that of 12 months old. Survival rate of transplanting in autumn, 90.3%, is higher than that in spring, that is, 72.6%. Medicine treatment can effectively increase establishing survival rate. Takes root the powder to enhance 12.81% compared to the comparisonaverage , Guarantees Shui Ji to process compared to the comparison averageenhances 8.26%。Transplants root the length for to be suitable above 5cm。Transplanting seedlings in spring needs irrigation more than 2 times. Is suitable in the production to promote the application the density 50cm×100cm to construct plants the combination, produces the grass quantity to reach 5126.5kg/ hm~2, and has both ecology benefit and the economical output, transplanted the same year seedlings to carry on applies fertilizer is suitable the quantity between 120-225kg/ hm~2.
