The quality of cashmere subjects mainly to diameter and length of cashmere. Melatonin has long been known to modulate hair growth. So it will establish the theoretical basic of production, Known about the effects of melatonin on the quality of cashmere and mechanism that melatonin modulates hair growth. Two groups of sixty cashmere goats ewe, aged between 1 and 2 years, were used this study. Diameter and length of cashmere and wool were measured monthly, study on effects of constant-release melatonin implants on the cashmere growth traits and the quality of cashmere of cashmere goats. At the same time, Study on the related gene expression of cashmere growth by real time PCR during the whole year, then analysis the correlation between these genes and melatinin. The results suggested as following:1. Under natural photoperiod conditions, plasma melatonin concentrations are 17.34pg/mL, the rise in plasma melatonin levels occurred after melatinin implants. The difference is significant between the control group and the experimental group.2. Plasma prolactin levels retain low level under natural photoperiod conditions, about 1.60 ng/mL, melatonin exhibits prolactin(PRL) secretion.3. Melation implant may increase the tendency of wool length, and decrease the tendency of wool diameter. Wool of of Inner Mongolian cashmere goats grows from Sptember to March, meanwhile partial old wool moulting., there is a thinning tendency on cashmere of melatonin, while has no effects on the length of cashmere, but promotes cashmere growth initiation earlier, inducing the second growth of cashmere. Quantity of cashmere increases 66.08g Constant-release melation implant may increase the tendency of yean number.4. Three splicing variants of Gene ROR express in the skin of cashmere goat,The quantify of RORαexpression are higher than RORβand RORγ. Constant-release melatonin implants promotes melatonin binding with ROR.5. Constant-release melation implant may degrade the expression quantity of BMP2 and TGF-βin anagen, while has no effect on BMPRIB andTGF-βRⅡ. It told that BMP2 and TGF-βproduct marked effects when melatonin participates the process of cashmere growth, but the role not through BMPRIB andTGF-βRⅡ. 6. Constant-release melation implant may enhance the expression quantity of Wnt10b and Frizzled, and Wnt10b binding with Frizzled in anagen.7. Constant-release melation implant may enhance the expression quantity of PDGFA, PDGFRA and FGF5 , meanwile promate PDGFA binding with PDGFRA in anagen. PDGFA, PDGFRA and NTRK3 have a synergistic action in the process of periodicity growth.8. Constant-release melation implant may depress the expression quantity of delta1, Notch1 and hairless. they have a synergistic action in the process of periodicity growth.9. The genes TGF-βRⅡ, FGF5, MSX-2, Wnt10b, Frizzled, PDGFRA, RORα, and RORβare correlated significantly(P<0.05)with the content of melatonin in plasma, FGF5, RORαand RORβhave positive correlation with melatonin, the others negative correlation. RORβmay be another nuclear receptor of melatinon except RORα.10. Melatinon may bind with RORαand RORβ, change the quantity ofβ-catenin and PDGFA, then downstream molecules were thanscribed.11. Rank correlation analysis between genes and traits suggested: TGF-β2, FGF5, MSX-2, delta1, Notch1, Frizzled and PDGFRA are significantly correlated(P<0.05) with the length of wool, TGF-β2, delta1,β-catenin and RORαwith the diameter of wool, while TGF-βRⅡ, delta1 ,hairless with the length of cashmere, Frizzled with the the diameter of cashmere, FGF5 and MSX-2 with cashmere wool ratio. Delta1,Notch1 and hairless are correlated positively with increment of cashmere wool ratio.
