Object:To explore and vertify the hypothesis that catgut implantation at Ying Xiang acupoint can adjust the neurogenic inflammation by allergic rhinitis rat model.Methods:1. The OVA and Al(OH)3 were used to establish the rat model of allergic rhini-tis.The behavior score, the level of sIgE in the peripheral blood detected by ELIS A, the histological of nasal mucosa and broncus were used to evaluated this animal model.2. The HRP was injected in the Ying Xiang acupoint(LI 20), and the micro-scope was used to find the positive marker in the the maxillary branch of the trigem-inal nerve, the trigeminal nerve stem, solitary trigeminal nerve, spinal nucleus, sphe-nopalatine ganglion, sphenopalatine nerve.3. The AR rat was treated by the capsaicin. The level of SP, CGRP, VIP in the nasal mucosa was detected by the immunohistochemistry, The level of NPY in serum was examined by ELIS A.4. Use catgue implation at LI20 to treat the AR rat. The level of SP, CGRP, VIP in the nasal mucosa was detected by the immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. These were used to evaluate the intervention effect after one intervene, twice and the third time.Result:1. The rat model of allergic rhinitis had been established by OVA and A1(OH)3. In the model group, the behavior score was significantly higher, the level of serum slgE was elevated, and the pathological examination of nasal mucosa showed the structural disorder, a large number of inflammatory factors infiltration, some of the cilia lodging.2. Under the microscope, the positive markers were found in the maxillary branch of the trigeminal nerve in the lateral nasal branch of the maxillary branch of the trigeminal nerve, the trigeminal nucleus and dorsal sphenopalatine ganglion of rat.3. After the intervention, in the capsaicin group(group C), the level of SP, CGRP and VIP were significantly decreased than the model group(group M), but sig-nificantly higher than the normal group(groip B). The behavioral score in group C was lower than group M, and had no difference between the group B. The level of serum NPY in M group was obviously higher than group B, while it had no obvious change in the group C.4. After the treatment with catgut implation at LI20, in the catgut implation group(group C), the average optical density of SP, CGRP were significantly de-creased than the model group(group M), but significantly higher than the normal group(groip B). The average optical density of VIP in group C was lower than group M, and had no difference between the group B. The expression of SP mRNA, CGRP mRNA and VEP mRNA were significantly reduced compared with the group M, but still higer than the group B.Conclusion:1. The neural tracer results suggest that "Ting Xiang points(LI20)-trigeminal nerve-sphenopalatine ganglion-nasal muscoa" pathway exists objectively; this provided a morphological evidence.2. The expression level of neuropeptides of nasal muscoa was marked higher in the AR model group(group M). This means neuropeptides participated in neurogenic inflammation of allergic rhinitis.3. Capsaicin can reduce the content of AR in rat nasal mucosa neuropeptides, thereby reducing inflammation of nasal mucosa.4. Catgut Implantation at Ying Xiang points(LI20) can reduce the amount of neuropeptides of nasal mucosa in AR rat, relivee the pathological changes in the nasal mucoas, and the intervention effect was similar to capsaicin.
