Exeperimental Investigation On Effect Of Electro Acupuncture Against Ischemic Brain Injury In Rat With Caudal-putamen Hemorrahage

Objective To study the effect of electroacupuncture against ischemic brain injury of Intracerebral Hemorrhage and the possible functional pathways. Methods Wistar rats were divided into four groups: normal group, physiological saline group, model group, electroacupuncture group. Collagense VII were used to induce caudal-putamen hemorrhage in rats. "Neiguan", "Shuigou", "Housanli" were electroacupunctured. The nerve missing sign, sum of ischemic apoptosis neurons in CA1 area, content of Glu and GAB A in Cornu Ammonis, expression and distribution of NO, SOD, bFGF, HSP70 after caudal-putamen hemorrhage and the effects on above items of electroacupuncture were observed. Results (1) Electroacupuncture could significantly improve the nerve missing sign of rats with caudal-putamen hemorrhage (P< 0.05 ) . (2) Electroacupuncture could significantly reduce Glu and RISE GAB A contents in Cornu Ammonis on both sides ( P< 0.01 ) which in model rats have been significantly higher than nomal levels ( P< 0.01 or P< 0.05 ) .(3) Electroacupuncture could significantly decrease the number of NO positive neurons on both sides of Cornu Ammonis of model rats( PO.01 ).The number of SOD positive neurons on both sides of brain cortex and Cornu Ammonis of model rats has been increased effectively by electroacupuncture (PO.01 ) .(4) Electroacupuncture could significantly increase the number of bFGF positive neurons on both sides of brain cortex and Cornu Ammonis of model rats (P<0.01) .(5) Electroacupuncture could promote the expression of HSP70 of astrosytes in the brain of model rats. Conclusion Electroacupuncture has the effect against ischemic brain injury of Intracerebral Hemorrhage. This effect of electroacupuncture could be carried out by following ways: Reduce the excitotoxic effect of Glu and NO in the brain after Intracerebral Hemorrhage. Improve the ability of eliminating free redicals ( SOD ) . Furthermore electroacupuncture could effectivly promote the secreting of bFGF and HSP70 to accelerate the subsisting of neurons and the renovating of nerve functions. By the above ways electroacupuncture could effectivly prevent the ischemic apoptosisof neurons after Intracerebral Hemorrhage.
