The aphasia is a kind of disease that has disorders on the ability of speaking, writing and understanding, caused by organic pathological changes in special area of cerebrum due to cerebrovascular disease (CVD). In our country,as the various changes of disease and the incidence of CVD growing up every year, there are up to1/3patients after CVD has aphasia at different level, which bring huge painfulness to patients and their families. Nowadays, most of western treatments for apoplexy are medicine taken and language rehabilitation therapy. However, except taking Chinese herbs, traditional Chinese Medicine also receive notable curative effect by acupuncture therapy.ObjectComparing with control group and observing the effect of language function on the apoplexy patients with piercing into Neiguan and Shuigou points, then evaluating the clinical effect of the treatment group in order to find another effective acupuncture therapy method.Method60qualified patients were randomly divided into30cases as treatment group and30cases as control group(traditional acupuncture).The main points of treatment group:Neiguan and Shuigou points, coordination of acupoints:Jianyu, Quchi, Hegu for the hemiparalysis of upper limb, Biguan, Zusanli, Sanyinjiao for the hemiparalysis of lower limb. Main point of control group:Yamen, Lianquan, Tongli, coordination of acupoints are the same as treatment group. All the patients had to treat for14days continually as one course, and standardized Aphasia Battery of Chinese (ABC) was used to examined60cases of aphasia to assess the aphasia quocient(AQ), the Chinese functional communicat ion(CFCP), Boston diagnostic aphasia examination(BDAE).ResultsBoth two groups got notable effect on language function, the total effective rate in the treatment group was83.33%, and that of control group Was73.33%. After the treatment, the effect of speaking, reading and writing expression were increased, except for the ability of understanding(P>0.05). The scores of AQ, CFCP and BDAE in the treatment group was superior to that of control group.ConclusionAcupuncting Neiguan and Shuigou points is a kind of effective therapy for healing aphasia, which play an important role in the rehabilitation of language function and the improvement of functional communication. Meanwhile, this method also can reduce the level of AQ and BDAE.
