Methods: Positive expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1 α )and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) protein in 34 cases Hepatocellular carcinoma and 11 cases hepatic hemangioma and surrounding normal hepatic tissue were investigated with SP immunohistochemistry. Microvessel density (MVD) were determined by anti-CD34 immunostaining.
